Fortunately, it will not be like the one we have been through these last few days. The southerly winds we have had for the past 48 hours has brought winds of 40/45 knots and more in the gusts, including hale.

The sea was impressive, like mountains advancing stealthily, as well as other waves superimposed in all directions. The wind picked up the water from the crests and out 'little' One Planet One Ocean was there in the middle doing its best.

I chose having a sail configuration that consisted of just the J3 only. The question was whether to have the third reef in the mainsail but maybe it was too much sail and lowering it during the storm is difficult. The problem is that it's more complex to get going again, but fortunately I've already done it and I'm back to normal sailing, although I have to go a little slower than I would like because we still have a big sea.

The manoeuvres are getting very heavy right now, not only because I'm tired, but also because of the cold. I can't stay outside long without freezing, and with my hands it's quite difficult to work.

As soon as you get water spray, it's like needles sticking into your skin!

Without a doubt one of the greatest motivations for getting past Cape Horn is to be able to gradually find warmer temperatures. Not far to go now!
