Types of data collected
You may need to communicate your personal data directly when using certain services of our website, in particular when filling in a form for :
- a subscription to the Vendée Globe newsletter and/or news from the Vendée Globe’s partners depending on your choices
- different contacts and inquiries with the teams in charge of organizing the Vendée Globe race (Executive management, Vendée Globe village ticketing, Communication department, Race management, Press relations and influence strategy, editorial and digital coverage, video production, photo production, website and mobile applications, trademark license and merchandising (Vendée Globe boutique), general coordination of the villages and organizing spaces, commercialization of booth space on the Vendée Globe village, commercialization of hospitality events),
- a registration to access the Vendée Globe village,
- a participation in one of our prize-contests.
Personal data that you must absolutely fill in on these forms are marked with an asterix (*). Without this information, we won’t be in capacity to register your request and follow it up.

Data retention period
Generally speaking we retain your personal data as long as necessary to achieve the operations for which they have been collected or if we have a legitimate interest in retaining them beyond this period.
The retention periods for data collected are the following :
- data relating to contacts and inquiries toward the teams in charge of organizing the Vendée Globe, subscription(s) to the Vendée Globe newsletter and/or news from the Vendée Globe’s partners, notifications and personalized content, registration(s) to access the Vendée Globe village, participation(s) in our prize-contests is retained for a maximum period of 3 years as of the last contact that you have initiated or as of your last activity.
- data relating to identity documents that you transfer us are retained for a maximum period of 12 months.
- Data collected automatically with cookies, including those pertaining to clickstream, are retained for a maximum period of 13 months.
At the end of the aforementioned time limits, some of your personal data is likely to be archived with restricted access in order to comply with our legal, accounting and fiscal obligations and/or during the applicable limitation period and/or in the event of litigation for the duration of those proceedings. After this retention period which complies with legal obligations, your personal data will be definitively deleted.
Data recipient
Your personal data is intended for us as data officer.
Within our company, data which concerns you are accessible only to authorized personnel for the purpose of achieving the assignments given to them. The latter are subject to observance of strict confidentiality concerning information they would be required to know in the context of their professional duties.

International data transfers
