After 12 days of technical work in Salvador de Bahia (Brasil) to repair the keel rams of her IMOCA MACSF boat, the initial damage which in turn required her to abandon her Vendee Globe on January 9, Isabelle Joschke has set out to bring her boat back to Les Sables d'Olonne.

Joschke is determined to complete her round the world passage outside the race, She will not be entirely alone on climb north back to France as Sam Davies is now at the latitude of Salvador de Bahia.

The two women who are good friends but enjoyed a competitive rivalry on the race course have decided to sail close to each other for the climb to Les Sables d'Olonne. They are expected to reach home between February 19 and 20.

“We went out on Thursday afternoon to check that everything was working well with the keel and that the main work was good. The boat will be fine but not with 100% of its potential. I can only cant the keel halfway. I'm going in safe mode, the boat is safe, I just need to take care of it and take it easy, ”declared Isabelle Joschke.
